Quiet. We overslept. The Easter Bunny had prepared baskets, the eggs were died in pretty colors, and a few decorations were placed around the house. It looked nice. I started the day as always, with a hot mug of coffee. The baskets weren't opened. The eggs weren't eaten. It was a different kind of Easter.
Sickness was in the house. Bronchitis had put my MIL in the hospital and my wife had caught the strain trying to care for her. She came home and is on another round of antibiotics. The silence was only broken by the constant coughing. I had asked the kids not to come home. Neither could afford to be sick, and this disease seemed to linger longer than most. I was also afraid that they might bring something home which could cause a relapse. It was a very hard decision and even tougher phone call to ask them not to come. So, it was quiet.
Some of my in-laws stopped by and the oldest brother and wife even stayed for dinner. I hope they stay well this week. Later, we took the 20 min ride up RT 100 to visit my folks. Fortunately Dad has recovered from his bout with the disease. He looks and sounds much stronger. We didn't stay too long.
