Steel

Day 20 of the build.

A rainy, foggy gray day in PA. I drove out to the site and it looks like a day off for the guys. I guess its too slippery to be pushing lumber around. Some of the inside contractors were doing their thing, wiring mostly.

It looks like we have our first resident. Activity around #35 included coverings over the windows and moving crates in the driveway. Congratulations!

When I pulled up to our lot nothing looked different, until I noticed the steel beams laying in my driveway. It almost looked like stuff to be thrown away. Three pieces, small by most construction standards, but too big for me to move around by myself.

Another note of progress; this weekend we purchased the major appliances. The washer/dryer, refrigerator and microwave oven are now off the shopping list. All of the research that went into comparing the various functions and features was trumped by a young sales lady that knew how to promote the last day of a good sale.

Hopefully the lumber will arrive soon.
