Footers, Forms and Foundation

Day 7 of the build. The footers had already been poured and the crew was assembling the forms that would become the basement walls of our new house. The footer is a concrete slab, anchored into the ground and serves as the bottom of the foundation. It gives the builder something to attach his forms to. Once the forms were assembled, it took about 4 loads of concrete to finish the walls. We were surprised to see how much foundation was required for the front porch (stoop). I guess this one isn't going to sink on us. Exciting progress!
