Weather

As I sipped my morning coffee I looked across the valley at an orange glare. I first thought it was a fire, until it changed to red and I realized it was just a school bus picking up the morning load. My attention went back to email and the calendar entries for the day and when I looked up again I could barely see the edge of my property just 50 feet away. Fog. A good day to be on the ground.

Yesterday the leading edge of a cold front went through. Low clouds, lots of rain and dropping temperatures. Some idiot even forecasted snow, but thankfully none arrived. I enjoyed seeing the squalls rush along the valley, glad that I could sit and watch in warmth.

Today the sunrise was spectacular! The sun illuminated the scattered clouds with pink and gold just before rising above the mountain. Wind is rushing between the houses, blowing the grass as if it were a river of water rather then air.

So, I've been working in a basement office for the past 5 or 6 years. Yes, I appreciate the view.

We continue to make progress on the house. Our primary decor is still brown cardboard, but more and more things are being put away. We get real excitement out of finding a measuring cup or the office phone, or living room lamp. (Still haven't found the 'harps' that hold the shades on to the lamps.)

We purchased blinds last night. I think the weekend will be devoted to hanging them. This place has lots of windows. We didn't buy any for the office. I like the view.
